A Thai woman is in intensive care after a hit-by-car crash left her brain injured, and doctors say they don’t know what caused the accident.
Leong Thongkrit, who lives in the northern province of Chiang Mai, was on her way to the airport with her son when the vehicle struck her on the side of the road.
The 38-year-old was taken to hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.
Doctors say she is not conscious and is in a critical condition with multiple injuries, including a collapsed lung, broken ribs and a fractured skull.
She was one of four people in the car at the time of the crash, which occurred on Thursday.
The driver of the other vehicles was not injured.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the accident was caused by a hit and run, which caused the crash.
Police said they are looking for the driver of a blue vehicle.
