Trump on Wednesday called for an impeachment inquiry into his eldest daughter, Katelyn, for an inappropriate tweet that she made about her late father.
The president’s daughter, who died in April, had tweeted, “My dad was a wonderful father to me.
I loved him and I loved my mom.”
Trump, whose daughter died last month, was among the first to voice his anger in a series of tweets on Wednesday.
“It’s time for the special prosecutor to look into the so-called Russia investigation,” he wrote.
“Katelyn has no credibility and her tweets were in bad taste.
The real Russia scandal is not with the Clintons, it’s with the Fake News Media and Congress.”
The president also called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign.
“Jeff Sessions must resign!” he wrote in another tweet.
“He should recuse himself and recuse from any investigation into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia!”
Trump has been a vocal critic of Sessions, a senator from Alabama who was Trump’s chief strategist before joining the administration.
The tweets come just days after Sessions said in a statement that he did not discuss campaign-related matters with the Russian ambassador in 2016.
He later told NBC News that he had met with the ambassador and said he did discuss campaign matters with Kislyak.
Trump’s daughter said she did not recall the conversation.
Trump also said in his tweet that Sessions should resign over the issue.
“Attorney General Sessions should immediately resign,” he tweeted.
“This is an unacceptable and illegal overreach of power.”
